It is divided into the central, east and west areas, with Hall of Great Mercy in the west area as the main attraction. A lacquered wooden statue of Avalokitesvra is enshrined in the hall, flanked by eight other statues, including Goddess Pixia. Buddhist and Taoist figures in the same hall is a rare sight in Beijing’s temple.
