Shanghai Yangtze River 6 Day Tour

Upon arrival in Shanghai, met by our English speaking tour guide and transferred to the pre-arranged hotel in Shanghai. You are at your leisure to take a good rest or explore the city for the remainer of the day.

First come to People's Square to visit Shanghai Museum . The museum has the selection of over 112,000 Chinese cultural relics from the Old Stone Age to modern times. Then walk along the Nanjing Pedestrian Road . It is regarded as the first commercial street in Shanghai. It was first built in 1851. Now Nanjing Road has turned into the number one site for shopping in the city.

Then move on to The Bund , one of the most noted architectural symbols of Shanghai. The Bund, or the waterfront,is now surrounded by about 50 various buildings of different architectural styles including Gothic, Baroque, Romanesque, Classicism and the Renaissance.

After lunch, continue to visit Yu yuan Garden . Yuyuan is the famous gardens in Shanghai, Located in the center of Shanghai's Old City, one of the few remaining old tourist sites in Shanghai. Close to the gardens is Shanghai's bazaar, a great number of small streets and lanes where vendors sell their products and food stuffs to the tourists and local people.Shopping at a local silk store.

Finally visit the new development zone in Pudong - Lujiazui, which is teeming with the futuristic, avant-garde buildings - Oriental Pearl Tower, Jin Mao Building, Bank of China Tower. Taking the elevator to the 88-storey Observation Deck of Jinmao Tower to have a bird's eye view of Huangpu River.

Take morning flight for Chongqing. Your afternoon Chongqing tour starts with the visit to Ciqikou Ancient Town . The old town is located in Shapingba district of Chongqing and on the west bank of Jialing River. The majority of the houses date from the Ming and Qing Dynasties.

Then come back to the city center and visit Stillwell Museum . Stillwell Museum is situated in the Yuzhong District in Chongqing city to commemorate General Joseph W. Stilwell (1883 - 1946) who contributed greatly to the liberation of China during the World War II. After dinner, you are transferred to the Dock for your Yangtze River trip ( overnight on board ).

Continue to cruise on the Yangtze River. Today you will be arranged to have a shore excursion to Fengdu Ghost City . Fengdu is the only ghost city in China, which is famous for its ghost culture. First take a cable car up to the hill and visit the temples all over the mountain with many statues. Then, return to the ship and move towards the fantastic Three Gorges.

Continiue to cruise on Yangtze River. Today enter the Qutang Gorge . Cruise ship carefully pilots its way through the narrow course. At Wushan, disembark the ship and board smaller vessels in order to explore either the Daning River (or Shennong Stream). Reboard the ship and sail through the Wu Gorge .

Pass through the Xiling Gorge which is the longest and historically the most dangerous of the Three Gorges. Then move on to the massive the Three Gorges Dam and disembark for a tour of this engineering marvel at Sandouping Village. After lunch on board, You will arrive in in Yichang. Transfer from cruise to airport in Yichang for your flight back to Shanghai ( air-ticket included). Met by our tour guide at Shanghai airport and returned to your downtown hotel in Shanghai (hotel not included).
