8:00 AM -11:30 AM
Hotel pick-up and first visit Zhujiajiao water town
Our comfortable van will take you to the 200 year old water town - Zhujiajiao, known as the best example of Yangtze river delta life and its old architecture. It is often dubbed as as the Shanghai's Venice. (about 1 hour on the way). Zhujiajiao was once a trading area due to the many canals, which were used to ferry goods in little boats and barges. Boats are still very much part of the charm of the place. Small boats are ubiquitous here, functioning as a nice way to get a view of the town and experience the local life, as they still serve as an important transportation method for local people.
You will be taking the gondolas with our guide on the water way to view the facade of the ancient town from different angles and take some great photos of the swathes of pretty cole flowers in Kezhi Garden. Different from other cursory tours of Zhujiajiao, you will be also uniquely arranged to visit the three hidden gems - Kezhi Yuan (photographing the cole flowers), Qing Dynasty Post Office and Fangsheng Bridge.
11:30 AM - 12:30 AM
Stop at a Shanghai Boutique Tour carefully selected restaurant by the side of the water way, enjoy freshly prepared local food on the second floor where you can view the most interesting and bustling part of the water village.
12:30 AM – 4:00 PM
In the afternoon drive 1 hour to the Shanghai World Financial Center and go up to the 100th floor for the panoramic views of the city. It is the world's 8th tallest building, and the 4th tallest structure in Mainland China. The 100th floor has a viewing gallery that is 55 meters long. It is the second highest observation deck in China. It is higher than the viewing platforms on the Canadian TV Tower (447 meters) and the Dubai Tower (440 meters).
4:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Visit to the Bund
Next, we will drive you to one of the top scenic spots in Shanghai: the Bund. It is a fantastic walkway along the Huangpu river and across the street you will see some of the most unique and wonderful buildings in older Shanghai. To avoid giving you the most cursory of tours, we will furnish you with a map of the Bund where we have labelled the 17 most representative buildings and a guide to the differing architectures of Shanghai when your trip is confirmed. You will receive an informative pamphlet of photos of Shanghai's new, gleaming skyscrapers, together with the history and classic architecture of its colonial past.
5:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Transfer back to your hotel.
Going back to your hotel in Shanghai will normally take about 20 to 30 minutes. Likewise, for a Shanghai train station. Going to Shanghai Hongqiao Airport directly normally takes about 1.5 hours while 2 hours for going to Pudong airport from the Bund.
Just Kindly Reminder
Your guide will be waiting for you in the lobby in the morning at around 8:00 AM - 8:30 AM. The evening before your tour, your Shanghai tour guide will call you at 7:00 to 8:00 pm to confirm the departure time. If you don't answer, your guide will leave a message for you at the front desk. If you have not received a message or a call after 8:00pm, contact Shanghai Office on 13910694045. We will solve your problems on the spot.
Your group will comprise of 4 to 6 people, offering good flexibility. If you want some more time for taking photos, or you have more questions about the history and architecture, just inform your guide.
Our vehicles are all equipped with a state of the art GPS system so that drivers can foresee the traffic situation and decide the best way to go and avoid traffic jams. We will do our best to help you spend your precious time in interesting places.
If you plan to leave Shanghai after your day tour, please check out from your hotel before departure. Normally it will take 10 to 20 minutes for hotel staff to complete the process. You may leave your luggage in our vehicle, and you will be transferred to the airport or train station immediately after the tour to make best use of your time. You will need 1 hour to be transferred from the city center to airport, and you will need to be at the airport 1½ hours before a domestic flight, or 2½ hours before taking an international flight. Please inform us of your departure time when booking, and remind our guide, and we will make arrangements accordingly.
