Shanghai Suzhou Day Tour

Pick up from your hotel in Shanghai around 8:00am. Drive about 1.5 hour and get to Suzhou - a well-known historical and cultural city, as well as a key scenic tourist one. The city is often dubbed as "The Venice of the East." Its famous private gardens are listed as World Culture Heritage.

First visit Humble Administrator's Garden. The Humble Administrator's Garden is one of the four most famous private gardens in Suzhou together with the Lion's Grove Garden, Canglang Garden and the Lingering Garden. The Humble Administrator's Garden is typical of the classical gardens in Ming Dynasty. The Humble Administrator's Garden is also on the top list of the most famous gardens in China.

Then move on to Pingjiang Road for a walk. This 800-year old street is the best preserved ancient "water lane" ( in contrast with "water town") in Suzhou. You cannot find a better place in China in which modernity and tradition match hand in hand.

After lunch, Then move on to Hanshan Temple - the temple used to be one of the 10 most famous temples in China. Hanshan Temple is a Buddhist temple and monastery in Suzhou which is located at the town of Fengqiao ( Maple Bridge), about 5 kilometres west of the old city of Suzhou.Temple has been famous since the Tang Dynasty. The temple compound is a scene of luxuriant green creating a secluded atmosphere.

Continue to visit Tiger Hill - one of Suzhou's famous site and symbol of Suzhou City. The hill is so named because it is said to look like a crouching tiger. The Tiger Hill covers about 14,100 square metres and is 36 metres in height. The Tiger Hill includes Tiger Hill Pagoda, Sword Testing Stone and Sword Pool, Lu Yu Well, Verdant Mountain Villa and Wanjing Villa.

After the tour in Suzhou, transferred back to your midtown hotel in Shanghai.
