This 7-day private tour takes you deep into the heart of Amdo, Tibet's eastern region. Starting from Xining, you'll drive to the monastery town of Rebkong (Tongren), known for its exquisite Thangka paintings and vibrant monastic life. Explore the intricate arts and sacred sites of Rebkong before continuing to Labrang Monastery in Xiahe, one of the most important Gelukpa monasteries outside Tibet. Surrounded by high mountains and alpine forests, Labrang offers profound spiritual and cultural immersion. The journey then leads to Langmusi, a picturesque Tibetan town nestled in a valley with two monasteries and a mosque. Here, you can trek on horseback or explore grasslands with nomadic herders. The tour concludes with a return drive to Xining, offering a comprehensive experience of Amdo's rich Buddhist heritage and stunning landscapes.

Stay in the monastery town of Rebkong.
Drive from Rebkong to Labrang (拉卜楞寺), Amdo's most famous monastery located in the small town of Xiahe (夏河). Labrang sits at 2900m/9500 feet with high mountains and alpine forests surrounding it.
Continue to travle around Labrang. The most important Tibetan monastery outside Tibet was first founded by Ngagong Tsunde, the first generation of Jamyang from nearby Ganjia in 1709. it is an important monastery of the Gelukpa or the Yellow Hat Sect.
You will go from Labrang to the beautiful Tibetan town of Langmusi (郎木寺).The rual town is nestled in a valley between the north and south hills along steep grassy meadows, evergreen forests and snow-capped peaks. Langmusi has two Tibetan Temples and one Muslim Mosque: Sertri Gompa – The temple is located on northern hill ( on Gansu side ), Kirti Gompa – The temple is on the southern hill (Sichuan side) and Hui Mosque – located close to the Sichuan side temple near the enterance gate to Kirti Temple.
Langmusi is a great place to do a short horse trek or to explore grasslands that are home to nomadic Tibetans.
You will return to Xining and tour ends.
