Overnight on the Great Wall - Sleeping on Ruined Badaling Great Walll

Pick up from your hotel around 8:00. First drive to Sacred Way ( also known as Spirit Way, Divine Road, or Holy Way ) in Changping District. On the way to Sacred Way, you will enjoy the scenic villages, river, and trees. In the front of imperial tombs, there used to be a Sacred Way, the road leading to heaven since the Emperor was known as the Son of the Heaven, who came from Heaven to his country through the Sacred Way. Along the way, you will be excited to take pictures with all the human and animal figures, not to forget, the two mythological creatures, xiezhi and qilin, standing and sitting in line on both sides. All these figures are supposed to stand here protecting the holy way. Then move on to the Underground Palace ( Dingling, one of the 13 Ming Dynasty Tombs complex ). From the Yongle Emperor onwards, 13 Ming Dynasty Emperors were buried in this area. You will visit Dingling, the tomb of the Wanli Emperor, which is the only one of the Ming Dynasty Tombs to have been excavated. After Chinese lunch, head to Ruined Badaling Great Wall . Arriving at Broken Badaling Great Wall base area, then hike up on the great wall for a sunset view. Then drive to a farmhouse for a local dinner nearby. After dinner, drive to the entrance to the wall again and have about 10-minute walk up on to one of the towers on the wall for overnight camping in a tent. We offer tents (two sharing), mats, sleeping bagd and fashlights. No electricity and no plumbing. Take all your necessities on to the wall for next morning's hike since we start to walk on Ruined Badaling Great Wall directly from where you are camping.

Wake up to catch the sunrise ( if fine weather ). Cooking is forbidden on the wall. You will enjoy simple western breakfast prepared by us (coffee, milk, bread...). We start to hike Ruined Badaling Great Wall around 8:00am and hike for 2-3 hour. The round trip hiking at the broken Badaling Great Wall normally takes you you approx. 3 hours with 5-6 towers on the wall. The Ruined Badaling Great Wall is less touristy, its hikers are mainly foreign travelers instead of domestic travelers who prefer hiking at the restored Badaling Great Wall . After the hike at the wall, you will be arranged to have Chinese lunch. After lunch, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Beijing. Cost: in US$ per person
