Ningbo Putuoshan 4 Day Tour

Upon arrival at Ningbo (by flight or train), you are met by our English speaking tour guide and transferred to your hotel in Ningbo.

After lunch, start your Ningbo tour with the visit to the Baoguo Temple. It is well known for its the second oldest surviving wooden structure in southern China and the main hall of the presenttemple dates back to 1013 AD during the Northern Song dynasty.

Then move on Tian Yi Pavilion ( or Tianyi library ). It is the oldest existing library in China.

Set up in 1561 by Fan Qin during the Ming dynasty (1368 - 1644), it once had a collection of over 70,000

volume of antique books during its prime time.

Return to your hotel in Ningbo and free for rest of the day.

After breakfast at your hotel, transferred to Baifeng Pier (白峰码头) and take a 70-minute cruise going to Putuoshan. Arriving at Putuoshan, walk from the pier to Puji Temple. It is on the central part of Putuoshan, one of the three largest temples on the island. Puji Temple shrines the Goddess of Mercy. It was originally built in Tang Dynasty ( 618 – 907 ).

Then move on to Fayu Temple. It is one of the three most important temples on Mount Putuo. It is located 2.8km north of Puji Temple. It was originally built in Ming Dynasty ( 1368 -1644 ). A colossal statue of Goddess of Mercy is seated in the middle of the hall flanked of rows of Luohan. A t the back of the main hall stands the Goddess of Mercy with one-thousand arm.

Continue to visit Huijin Temple. It is one of the three most important temples on Mount Putuo. It is located on the top of Foding Mountain ( Buddha's Summit Peak), the farthest from the ferry terminal. It is a half hour's climb from Fayu Temple, with 2088 stone steps. Alternatively you can reach the summit by cable car ( Optional ). The buildings of of Huiji Temple are elaborate with traditional style of Chinese architectures. Originally built in Ming Dynasty (1368-1574),

Stay overnight in Putuoshan.

After breakfast, visit Zizhulin, a Buddhist scenic area with stunning views. Standing on Zizhulin, you are able to have a clear view of the 8.8- meter statue of the Nanhai Goddess of Mercy. Zizhulin has also has the earliest temple

• Bukenqu Temple that now houses the earliest statue of Goddess of Mercy.

Then head to One Thousand Step Beach on the east side of Putuoshan Island It is soft,clean, unspoiled and the largest beach in the island.

After lunch, you will take the 70-minute cruise back to Ningbo. Met and returned to your hotel in Ningbo. You are free for the remainder of the day. Stay overnight in Ningbo.

After breakfast, you are free till you are transferred back to Ningbo airport or railway station.and your tour ends here.
