Changquan ( Long Shadow Boxing ) - Kung Fu
Changquan literally means "Long Fist". It is a broad term for external (as opposed to internal) Northern Chinese martial arts (Northern Shaolin Kung Fu). Long Fist was established in the 10th century by Zhao Kuangyin, founding Emperor of the Song Dynasty (960–1279).
The motto for Changquan is that "The strong offence is the best defence". So the practitioner launches a pre-active and aggressive attack which makes the opponent have no opportunity to attack.

The typical moves in modern Changquan includes xuanfengjiao (whirlwind kick), xuanzi (butterfly jump), cekongfan (side somersault), and tengkongfeijiao (flying jump kick).
The Long Fist style is believed to have a good balance of hand and foot techniques, but the Long Fist practitioner is also famous for strong acrobatic kicks. Modern Changquan is a generally taught in China as a form of basic martial arts.
Inside the basic forms, kicking and stances are practised strongly. The fighting techniques are stressed as punching, throwing dodging and integrated footwork. Changquan can be easily recognized by it's beautiful and extended stances as well as many energetic leaps jumps and quick rhythmic pace.
