At 8:00am pick you up from your hotel in downtown Beijing. Get to the Jinshanling Great Wall around 10:30am. The Jinshanling Great Wall was initially built from 1368 to 1389 in the Ming Dynasty, and in 1567 or 1570 rebuilding of the Wall was mainly directed by General Qi Jiguang. The Wall is about 21 to 24 feet high and 15 to 18 feet wide, which is made of brick and stone. Remark: simple box-meal lunch on the way.

The Jinshanling Great Wall has an elevation of 2100 feet. There is a cableway up to the Jinshanling Great Wall. The fact is that it is very easy to walk up to the Great Wall. Hiking for 3 to 4 hours on its section. Each tower has its unique feature and look. There are relatively less crowded here at Jinshanling Great Wall, it is a nice place to explore the Great Wall around Beijing.

Take a bath and have some relaxation. Enjoy a local dinner at Jinshanling Great Wall Hotel.
Today hiking the east section of Simatai Great Wall for 2-3 hours in the morning. There are in total sixteen watchtowers built at intervals along this space and it will take about 2-3 hours to reach the twelfth watchtower. Beyond this stage the condition of the stairs and walkways is poor and the passage becomes both steep and narrow which means that it is often safer to use the adjacent footpath rather than try to walk on the Wall itself. So the towers from 13th to 16th are not allowed to hike.

For most Simatai Great Wall lovers, people prefer to hike up the Great Wall, then take the cable car down. If you don't have strong legs, you may take the cable car up to an open place close to the 5th and the 8th tower ( White Cloud Tower ), then climb up or climb down the Great Wall, or again you may choose to take the cable car back to the ground after hiking up to the top. Cable car is optional ( RMB80 one way ).

You will have a home lunch at one of the households at Simatai Village 1.5km west of Simatai Great Wall. After the late lunch, get back to the hotel downtown Beijing.
