Embark on a four-day private journey from Chongqing to Yichang, blending urban discovery with iconic river cruising. Begin with a guided half-day tour of Chongqing, including a visit to Ciqikou Ancient Town, a Ming and Qing dynasty gem perched on the Jialing River. Board your Yangtze cruise ship and sail into the heart of the Three Gorges. Along the way, explore Fengdu Ghost City, China’s unique netherworld-themed hilltop complex, and navigate the dramatic Qutang, Wu, and Xiling gorges. Disembark for an intimate small-boat excursion on the Daning River or Shennong Stream. Conclude with a tour of the Three Gorges Dam, an engineering wonder, before transfer to Yichang airport. Pick up from Chongqing Train Station, or Chongqing aiport in the morning. First have Chinese lunch, start your half day tour in Chongqing with the visit to Ciqikou Ancient Town. The old town is located in Shapingba district of Chongqing and on the west bank of Jialing River, taking up an area of 1.18 square kilometers. The majority of the houses date from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, periods during which many masterpieces of Chinese architecture were created.
Then come back to the city center and visit Stillwell Museum. Joseph W. Stilwell (1883 - 1946) was born in Palatka, Florida, USA. He was graduated from West Point in 1904. Stillwell Museum is situated in the Yuzhong District in Chongqing city to commemorate General Joseph W. Stilwell who contributed greatly to the liberation of China during the World War II.
After dinner, you are transferred to the Dock for your Yangtze River trip.
Cruising on the Yangtze River. Today you will be arranged to have shore excursion to Fengdu Ghost City. Fengdu is the only ghost city in China. First take a cable car up to the hill and visit the temples all over the mountain with many statues. Then, return to the ship and pass towards the fantastic Three Gorges.
Today enter Qutang Gorge. Cruise ship carefully pilots its way through the narrow course. At Wushan, disembark the ship and board smaller vessels in order to explore either the Daning River (or Shennong Stream). Reboard the ship and sail through the Wu Gorge.
Pass through the Xiling Gorge which is the longest and historically the most dangerous of the Three Gorges. We move on to the massive the Three Gorges Dam and disembark for a tour of this engineering marvel at Sandouping Village. Cruise Arrival in Yichang.
