This 8-day private tour invites you to discover the cultural and natural treasures of northern China. Begin in Beijing, where you'll visit the Temple of Heaven and explore Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. Journey to the Ming Tombs and then drive to the Gegentala Grassland, where you'll stay in deluxe yurts and experience the open steppe. In Hohhot, explore Dazhao Monastery and the historic Saishanglaojie Street. Travel by high-speed train to Datong to marvel at the Yungang Grottoes, the Nine Dragon Screen, and the breathtaking Hanging Temple. Return to Beijing for departure. Throughout, enjoy comfortable hotels and seamless private transfers, with ample free time to absorb each destination's unique atmosphere.

Arrival in Beijing, met and transferred to your hotel ( booked by us ) in Beijing. In the afternoon, visit Temple of Heaven , the place where the emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties worshipped heaven and prayed for peace and harvest. You are at your leisure to take a good rest or explore the city for the remainer of the day.

Starting the day with a visit to Tiananmen Square , the world largest square of this kind. You will be given the details of all the buildings in and around the square including Mao's mausaleum, the National Museum, the Parliament Building. Then go through an underground tunnel to the imperial palace, also known as the " Forbidden City ", the complex of imperial palace, which was home to the Emperors of Ming and Qing dynasties for over 500 years.
Today you have a la carte lunch with an a la carte menu at a nice local Cantonese restaurant, where you could enjoy the authentic Chinese food. After lunch, continue to visit Summer Palace , the largest and most beautiful Chinese imperial garden. It is regarded as a museum of gardens in China. Then visit a Tea market where you can taste the famous Chinese tea and see Chinese tea ceremony in a big Chinese tea market and buy the local Chinese teas.
Tonight you are arranged to see the Kung Fu Show at Red Theatre (middle Seating Area). This is a great show. It tells a story of Chin Yu entering the monastery and making his way through life to finally becoming the Abbott. There are many demonstrations of Kungfu and strength throughout the show. The costumes and the choreography are great. Unfortunately people are not allowed to take photos nor video it. You can however purchase a DVD of the show. The show lasts about one hour and 15 minutes. After the show, transferred back to your hotel.

After breakfast, you are picked up at your hotel around 8:00am. Drive to the Ming Tombs ( Dingling, one of the 13 Ming Dynasty Tombs complex ). From the Yongle Emperor onwards, 13 Ming Dynasty Emperors were buried in this area. You will visit Dingling, the tomb of the Wanli Emperor, which is the only one of the Ming Dynasty Tombs to have been excavated. Visited the Jade Factory where they explained the difference types of jade and how jade can be carved in a great variety of shapes.
After Chinese lunch, head to Mutainyu Great Wall to start your highlight of your Beijing tour, hiking the Great Wall of China, a massive military defense works which was left from the Ming dynasty. It is a very spectacular view. You will take lots of pictures.
Take late afternoon flight for Hohhot. Met and transferred to your hotel in Hohhot.

After breakfast, drive to the Gegentala Grassland . The drive to Gegentala Grassland takes about 3 hours. After arriving at the grassland, check in at the deluxe yurts. Then go to the stud farms to select the horse for riding. The cost for horse riding is not included in the tour package. You are supposed to talk with the herdsmen. Normally it costs RMB 150 per round, which takes about 2 hours including the horse riding, visiting an Aobao hill and visiting a Mongolian family. After the horse riding, watching the routine performance at 5:00pm given by the Gegentala Grassland including horse racing and wrestling performance. After dinner, enjoying bonfire party in the evening starting at 9:00 or 9:00am. Stay at deluxe yurt.

Relax your body riding on the endless grassland, under the blue sky and white cloud. Drive back to Huhhot city. After lunch, visit Dazhao Monastery , the largest Gelukpa (Yellow Hat Sect) Temple in town, which holds many interesting artifacts.
Then move on to Saishanglaojie , the 400-year old street with the characteristics of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. After lunch, visit Five-Pagoda Temple or locally called Wuta Si in Chinese. It has a blend of architectural style with five multi-tier Chinese style pagodas built on a square-shaped Indian style structure. Later do a bit souvenir shopping. Stay overnight at Hohhot.

After breakfast, take No.K44 (9:26 - 13:32) for Datong. Arrival at Datong, drive to Yungang Grottoes . These grottoes are the main attractions most people make a trip to Datong. Then back to the city center of Datong and have a close look at Nine Dragon Screen . The glazed tile screen was built in 1771 during the administration of Emperor Qianlong. It is 3.5 meters high and about 30 meters long. It consists of 270 pieces glazed tiles, having 9 featuring dragons playing with pearls with a background of clouds and seawater. back to your hotel in Datong.

Pick up from your hotel Datong in the morning and drive to Hanging Temple , 65 km away south-east of Datong. The temple hangs on the west cliff of a hill with over 50 meters above the ground, hence Hanging Monastery. take train No.K44(13:40-19:42) for Beijing. Arrival in Beijing, met and transferred to your hotel in Beijing.
Today you are at leisure on your own till transfer to Beijing airport for your next destination and end your pleasant China trip.
