Chengdu tour
Encounter giant pandas, marvel at the Leshan Giant Buddha, and ascend the sacred summit of Mount Emei on this curated two-day private tour from Chengdu.
This two-day private excursion invites you to experience the cultural and natural wonders of Sichuan, beginning with an intimate morning at the Chengdu Panda Breeding and Research Centre. Observe giant pandas in a lush, park-like habitat before traveling to Leshan to stand before the awe-inspiring 71-meter-tall Leshan Giant Buddha, carved into a cliff face. On the second day, journey to Mount Emei, one of China’s Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains. A scenic bus ride, cable car ascent, and short walk lead you to the Golden Summit, where panoramic views and ancient temples await. Throughout the tour, enjoy seamless private transportation and the guidance of an English-speaking driver. This itinerary is ideal for travelers seeking a concise yet immersive introduction to Sichuan’s iconic pandas, monumental Buddhist art, and sacred mountain landscapes.

Pick up from your hotel around 8:30am and then we are going to see the lovely pandas. Located in northern suburb of Chengdu, the Panda Base (Chengdu Panda Breeding and Research Centre) takes us about 50 minutes to get there from downtown area. In this park-like base, we are sure to see many pandas at one time that we cannot realize in other places all over the world.

After lunch, head to Leshan City in about 2 hours. Once arriving in Leshan, we will board a riverboat for the best view of the Leshan Giant Buddha. The massive Buddha was carved out of a cliff face more than a thousand years ago, but now it is still well preserved in good shape, with his full and serene face. Then cruise back to the port and drive to your hotel in Leshan - Huasheng Hotel, a nice 4 star hotel in the city of Leshan. Dinner will be arranged at the hotel. After diner, explore the city on your own and free on your own.

After breakfast, move on to the entrance to Mt. Emei. The 30-km ride takes only half hour. First take a 22-seat bus, then drive about one and half hours along the mountain road from the gate to the cable car station in the middle of the mountain, then take the cableway up to the site near the summit. So walk about 10 minutes you will get to the golden summit - the top of Mt.Emei. Mt. Emei is one of the Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains of China. It was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996.

After lunch we would take the sightseeing bus down to the middle of the mountain. By the cable car directly to where the Wannian Monastery is located. We are sure to be surprised by the wonderful skill used to build this ancient temple. Walk down through the one-sky-line rock, monkey region and Qingyin Pavilion , we are going to arrive at the foot of mountain after one and a half hour. Get on our private car to return to Chengdu.
