Our day tour starts with Sleeping Buddha Temple , located on the eastern side of the Fragrant Hills and built in the 7th Century during the heyday of the Tang Dynasty (618-907 BC). It was enlarged in the Yuan Dynasty to accommodate a huge bronze Reclining Buddha, which was cast in the year 1320 using 25,000 kilograms of bronze.

Then move on to Yong He Gong (or Lama Temple),now a working lamasery. Built initially in 1694 during the Qing Dynasty, this building was the residence of Emperor Yongzheng when he was just a prince. However, in 1744 the Qing Dynasty formally changed the status of the dwelling to that of a lamasery

After lunch, visit Fayuan Temple , the temple's name means "Origin of Buddhism" and indicates the importance of this place. First built in the Tang Dynasty (618-907 BC), the temple is now the headquarters of the China Buddhism Association and China Buddhism College. Return to your hotel around 5:30 PM.
