Beijing Museum of Stone Carving Art

Occupying an area of 20,000 sq.m, the museum is in the Zhenjue Temple of former times. The Beijing Museum of Stone Carving Art. A Vajira-throne Pagoda in the museum, with its body fully covered with sculpted Buddha images, dates to the 9th year of the Chenghua reign (1473).

One of a dozen similar pagodas remaining in China today, this pagoda with its greater age compared to others and its rather unique structure, is an important historical relic and a large was ancient work of art.

The indoor exhibition in the museum consists of the “Display about Zhenjue Temple,” and “Stone Artworks in the Beijing Region.”

The outdoor exhibition of the museum entitled “Outdoor Display of Stone Carvings,” displays stone inscriptions and carvings, tablets of merit, tablets of epitaphs, rubbings from stone inscriptions, temple and guildhall tablets.
